How to measure for the best fit!

It's wise to check our guidelines first so you will obtain the best fit. Different ranges tend to have slightly different sizing details, so against each Prom Gown you will see a link to the appropriate sizing table.

MEASURING FOR THE BEST FIT

Never guess your size.

Measure carefully before purchase.

You most likely wear a different size in formal wear than in high street clothing.

Your bra size is NOT your bust size!

Measure wearing the underwear you will likely wear with the dress.

Use a cloth measure - have someone else measure you.

Plan on alterations for a perfect fit.

Please check the measurements shown for your chosen gown; these should be your actual body measurements. Be the same or just slightly under for a perfect fit. If you need any help with fitting then email us your accurate measurements - we will do our best to assist.

Get someone else to help for most accurate results. Using a tailor's cloth tape measure - keep the tape taut but comfortable - you should be able to just slip a finger under the tape.

A. BUST - Measure around the fullest part of the bust wearing the bra that you will likely wear with the dress. This is your full bust measurement, which is NOT your bra size.

B. WAIST - Measure around the thinnest part of the waist (around 1" above the tummy button).

C. HIPS - Measure around the fullest part of the bottom (around 10" below the natural waistline) .

Please note that alterations are part of a perfect fit with formal wear and should be expected in most cases. There is generally no seam allowance to "let out" a dress so if you are between sizes we recommend buying a size bigger and having it altered to fit. Dresses are generally made to fit ladies of 5ft 8 to 5ft 11 tall depending on the manufacturer - length or straps may need to be altered for shorter ladies. If you wish us to advise you on likely alterations please email prior to purchase.
